Department of Accounting at Augustana College:

The Department of Accounting at Augustana College is a pillar of academic excellence, guided by a team of dedicated educators committed to student success. Led by three dedicated professors, all recipients of the Educator of the Year award from the Illinois Society of CPAs, the department offers a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for successful careers in accounting and beyond. We are seeking an enthusiastic professional to join our experienced faculty.

Job Description:

Augustana College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in accounting at the assistant professor level, beginning either February 2025 or August 2025. The successful candidate will teach 24 credits per academic year, including courses within the existing accounting curriculum. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the position involves advising accounting majors, engaging in scholarly activities, and contributing to the academic and professional development of students.

Requirements:

Master's degree in Accounting, CPA certification, and professional experience are required. We encourage applicants with demonstrated success in working with diverse populations as well as a desire to engage interdisciplinary collaboration and promote the value of a liberal arts education. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to bring excellence and innovation into the classroom, maintain a strong continuing record of scholarship, and possess attributes leading to successful professional service. Departmental duties required in support of the traditional accounting curriculum while strengthening the connection of the department to the liberal arts areas on the campus. As an undergraduate residential liberal arts college Augustana values advising and mentoring of students. We also expect that faculty will engage in campus wide service.
