Senior Director, Operations (West)

As the Sr. Director, Operations for World Kinect, you will manage and direct the staff of all operational activities including transportation, warehousing, maintenance and safety across the assigned region. The role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of direct reports and for carrying out these responsibilities within the organizations policies and procedures. Must provide vision, leadership and a positive role model with accountability, new programs / systems and modern technology.

This role must have the capability to expand into different areas, geographic regions and have the knowledge and experience to do so quickly. This position is responsible for daily operations requiring exceptional leadership skills and personal integrity

Compendation Range $160K to $$190K DOE

Also includes a 25% annual bonus target

Responsibilities

  • Provides accountability for all Physical Assets and their Operations for the allocated region
  • Responsible for implementing QHSE standards and processes for allocated region with direction from HSE
  • Partner with commercial leaders to align asset portfolio with business strategy and ensure appropriate asset resources to accomplish corporate goals
  • Provide leadership to assigned region including setting direction and alignment with overall NA Land strategy, development of people and leadership of change
  • Responsible for the physical asset operations to ensure safety standards, appropriate staff resources, operational best practices, agreed KPIs and annual budgets are achieved
  • Collaboration with Logistics to ensure full utilization and efficiency of the asset portfolio
  • Provide a single-point of accountability for WFS global physical assets within allocated region
  • Manage operating staff and provide oversight, guidance, training and organizational alignment to achieve safety, regulatory and operational excellence and best practices
  • Implement change and demonstrate accountability to link the organization's risk management strategy to the asset's day-to-day operations and hold operational leaders accountable to deliver results
  • Take responsibility for the operational effectiveness of the organization's strategy and provide feedback and recommendations to senior management and commercial leaders on how to optimize the physical asset portfolio
  • Drive efficiency and accountability to the Operations Directors to stay within annual budgets set by senior management and finance
  • Interface with commercial leaders in order to integrate commercial, supply and trading strategy that complements prudent physical asset management
  • Involved in M&A activity to ensure due diligence, proper onboarding and operational integration
  • Responsible for building annual CAPEX plan for region, both growth & maintenance capital for physical assets
  • Responsible for OPEX at region's locations
  • Ensure effective development of region's personnel to ensure they are correctly trained for role, to ensure that safe and efficient operations occur, with a view to organizational succession planning and business continuity capability.
  • Responsible for leading key business project as required (e.g. Fleet Automation)
  • Responsible for the operation of relevant Business systems within region from a requirements and user/customer interface perspective.
  • Ensuring that BD is supported within the region segment by prioritizing GPO assets, in order to facilitate growth whilst maintaining current operations.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Approximately 400 Indirect Reports
  • Regional Operationns Directors

Travel Requirements

Role is based in Home based within a West regional remit, travel frequency is high with locations across region, wider NA and global as required.

  • Maintenance of Succession & Business Continuity Planning
  • Successful implementation of Training Programme for Staff
  • Delivery of support to BD whilst maintaining current operational capability
  • Delivery of robust and financially optimal OPEX & CAPEX plans
  • Meeting agreed ongoing objectives in the time agreed

Work Experience Required

The successful candidate is likely to have significant work experience within the Fuels sector with a proven track record of managing personnel at a senior level.

Technical Skills & Specific Knowledge Required

Essential

  • Experience of leading indirect and geographically dispersed management teams at a senior level is essential.
  • Fuel Operations management experience is essential.
  • Commercial/Business Development experience.

Desirable

  • Understanding of Risk Assessments & Risk Management
  • Working knowledge of Fuel Management Systems
  • Company Board/Director Experience
