If so, the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation has an exciting opportunity for you to join them as a Program Coordinator for the Bridges Out of Poverty initiative in Hancock, Michigan.

As the Bridges Out of Poverty (BOP) Program Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to engage and educate the community about the complexities of poverty. You’ll have the unique opportunity to connect with diverse stakeholders, from local businesses to law enforcement, government, and healthcare, working together to break down barriers and build a more resilient community. Your role will be to foster relationships, support program attendees, and empower families and individuals to create sustainable futures.

WHAT WE OFFER.

  • $42,060 – $53,150 annual starting pay based on experience and education.

  • Paid time off.
  • Full-time Monday-Friday position working 8:30am – 4:30pm. Some schedule flexibility is available as you must be able to accommodate some evening and weekend hours as needed.
  • Position begins in January of 2025.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

  • Train community members on the Bridges Out of Poverty principles and concepts.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of community partners, including law enforcement, education, healthcare, and businesses, to address poverty.
  • Recruit and support facilitators and participants for the “Getting Ahead” classes, providing guidance to families and individuals.
  • Organize workshops and events that promote understanding and action around poverty-related challenges.
  • Provide leadership in team and community meetings, sharing updates and strategies.
  • Build partnerships and collaborate with stakeholders committed to community health and well-being.
  • Represent the BOP initiative at events and offer public speaking presentations to raise awareness.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, family studies, education, or a related field (or a combination of education and experience allowing you to be successful in working with families and individuals).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Experience working with families and individuals in poverty or from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of trauma and trauma-sensitive approaches is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation required to meet position requirements.
  • Experience and/or ability to attract resources and develop innovative, distinctive programs.
