Rider University’s Department of Performing Arts seeks an adjunct professor to teach THE 410-02: Advanced Performance Workshop (LA Experience), in person in Los Angeles, starting Spring, 2025.

Responsibilities include:  

Teaching industry terminology and best practices specific to Film and TV Acting in the Los Angeles area to undergraduate (BFA) students of Acting and Musical Theatre. This position requires the professor to prepare students for, and help them to create, their end-of-the year showcase in Los Angeles, which will include a short presentation of edited reels, to be presented for industry agents, managers, and professionals during the final week of classes. Resume, website, self-promotion, audition self-tapes, and other related skills should also be covered in the class. 

The course will meet once weekly for 13 weeks between January 13-April 11, 2025. 

• Advanced degree in Theatre or related discipline with emphasis, or distinct degree, in Acting. Commensurate professional Acting experience will otherwise be considered.
• Minimum three years’ demonstrated professional experience in the Film & TV industry. 
• Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required. 

• MFA in Acting with emphasis in, or distinct MFA in Acting, preferred
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred
