Purpose
The Senior Human Resources Coordinator will supervise the Student & Part-Time Talent Acquisition Team and oversee recruitment functions and processes for University Housing and Dining (UHD). Responsible for providing talent acquisition guidance to hiring managers and HR staff on staff policies, regulations, and procedures on recruitment, compensation, and overall best practices.
 
 
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to HR staff responsible for student and part-time employment, including hiring practices, recruitment, and selection. Supervise, assign work, evaluate, and provide feedback to HR staff. Communicate with managers, applicants, and team members on daily operational decisions. Monitor and manage the workload of HR staff. Collaborate with HR leadership to resolve talent acquisition issues. Assist the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition in evaluating and analyzing recruitment efforts.
  • Oversee and coordinate the timely and accurate processing of customer requests in Student & Part-Time talent acquisition via the HR ticket system and UHD HR office email. Promptly respond to, handle, or assign requests to the appropriate party. Review and approve Workday business processes, including recruiting and hiring-related transactions. Support the talent acquisition team by making recommendations to department hiring managers on job descriptions, application reviews, interviews, pre-hire steps, compensation review, and post-offer hiring procedures. Manage all recruitment activities for new hires, including approving selection documentation.
  • Resolve policy variations and communicate regularly with university partners, including Human Resource Services, Student Employment Coordinator, Texas Global, and Work-study Office. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to UHD and University of Texas at Austin policies and procedures. Ensure hiring documents are stored according to record retention policies. Maintain and report recruitment metrics regularly. Compile and distribute updates on new hires and openings as needed. Audit the hiring process and handle sensitive and secure documents appropriately. Manage confidential, routine, and non-routine information in recruiting committees and facilitate recruiting and hiring-related training for hiring managers.
  • Create and implement efficiencies to improve customer service, candidate experience, and recruitment support. Partner with the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition and HR staff to plan recruitment initiatives for student and part-time workforce. Assist in staffing projections, recruitment strategies, market analysis, and compensation analysis. Build and analyze reports on recruitment data for decision-making and tracking.
  • Complete special projects and disseminate information. Work independently and as part of a team on various projects. Serve as a backup to talent acquisition and HR team members as needed. Participate in recruitment activities, including interviewing, job fairs, and sourcing when needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
 
 
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a human resources function.
 
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
 
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 or more years of experience supervising or leading a team.
  • 2 or more years of experience in talent acquisition.
  • Experience using Workday.
  • Recruiting and/or human resource experience in a university setting.
  • Spanish and English bilingual.
 
 
Salary Range
 
$68,000+ depending on qualifications
 
 
Working Conditions
  • May work around standard office conditions.
  • Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation.
  • Use of manual dexterity.
 
 
Work Shift
  • Monday - Friday, 8:00AM -5:00PM. Hours and days may vary due to business needs.

Employment Eligibility:
Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
