Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Information Technology Jr. Technician for theUSV Operations and Sustainment programsupporting AstrionNavy Division.

JOB DETAILS

LOCATION:San Diego, California

JOB STATUS:Full-Time

TRAVEL:Some travel may be required, embarked at sea overnight

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• CITIZENSHIP: Current U.S. Citizenship Required.
• CERTIFICATIONS:Prefer Sys Admin certification or similar experience.
• EDUCATION: BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or similar field. Will accept significant experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Network technician, LINUX experience is required
• Experience administering, operating, and maintaining computer network.
• Experience with running and deploying virtual machines
• 2 years' experience with LINUX
• Ability to troubleshoot networking issues in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to perform network engineering duties at-sea

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Experience with C++ and PYTHON
• Experience with shipboard applications of computer networks
• Formal LINUX network Systems Administrator certification
• Cyber security certification
• Will consider candidates with significant experience in lieu of B.S. degree
  

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Configure and update LINUX-based networks.
• Install, update and deploy software on LINUX-based systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair network problems.
• Assist with at-sea testing of networks on military vessels.
• Administer user accounts.

SALARY RANGE: Estimated $65,000 - $80,000 USD annually*
*depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications
