Manage Greenhouse and Field Operations:
- Oversee the cultivation and maintenance of research plant materials in greenhouse and field settings.
- Ensure optimal growing conditions and plant health.
Supervise Student Workers:
- Coordinate and manage student workers, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient task completion.
- Train new student workers on proper techniques and safety protocols.
Assist Principal Investigator (PI):
- Support the PI and graduate students in collecting samples and data.
Maintain Lab and Greenhouse Cleanliness:
- Regularly clean and organize the lab and greenhouse to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Implement cleanliness standards and protocols to prevent contamination and ensure operational efficiency.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm is the general range of hours; start and end times will depend on daily travel and tasks to be completed (aim is for 40 hours per week, with some overtime expected during the peak season, 50-55 hours). This full-time work schedule would begin in earnest in late March or July.
