Greenhouse work often involves the use of small mesocosms to test novel management techniques and to better understand the biology of aquatic plant species. Field-based projects often include the use of GIS and hydroacoustic technologies for mapping and long-term monitoring of aquatic plant communities. Field sites range from small private ponds to large reservoir systems including (but not limited to) Lake Gaston, Kerr Lake, Lake Norman, Lake Waccamaw, and Jordan Lake. Some management of terrestrial species may be included.
