Senior Title Specialist [Hybrid]

The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate title activities for the regional offices within the Grid Scale Power Development team. This includes ensuring documents are properly prepared for acquisition and execution, coordinating and clearing title issues, and coordinating the real estate portion of project transactions. Responsible for training and mentoring less experienced Title Specialists, assisting all staff with title insurance and real estate understanding and training and acting as a company resource for real estate and title best practices.
Facilitate document preparation and execution in accordance with Site Acquisition Policy
Coordinate due diligence review and closing of real estate portion of transactions including maintaining the data room, reviewing title documents and reports, drafting, coordinating, and tracking curative documents, reviewing ALTA survey, and maintaining working relationships with outside legal counsel and in-house corporate legal team
Assist project team with identifying landowners, searching property records, obtaining taxpayer information, and ordering and reviewing title reports
Work closely with land acquisition specialist to facilitate contract and curative document execution
Train and mentor staff/temporary staff regarding title and real estate matters
Coordinate with all LCE teams to ensure all critical dates and obligations under land contracts are met in a timely manner
Work with the project team to solicit title bids and ALTA Survey bids
Organize distribution of real estate documents to the title company, survey company, and outside parties during the closing of the real estate portion of transactions
Frequent contact with landowners, financial institutions, and utility companies
Other duties as assigned
Coordinate land and title issues between and related to different EDF Renewable Energy projects
Working Conditions:
- 90% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment.
- 10% of time is spent outside of the office visiting landowners or project sites in addition to attending various conferences and meetings.
Education/Experience:
Requires a minimum of 5 years of commercial title insurance experience and/or a paralegal certificate.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Management experience preferred.
- Takes initiative, is self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Working knowledge in M365, Smartsheets, Landworks and SAP.
- Capable of multi-tasking and managing more than one project at a time.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work within a team of land development professionals and to prioritize tasks within each project to meet the needs of the team.
This role's annual base salary range is between $64,000 and $106,500.
