Assistant Professor – Mathematics (Two Open Positions)
Job Description
SUMMARY
The Division of Science and Mathematics at Rust College seeks a colleague in the rank of Assistant Professor to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in mathematics (i.e., Pre & Advanced Calculus, Geometry, Trigonometry, Linear
Algebra, Complex Variable, Topology etc.). This is a standard nine-month faculty appointment. The candidate selected for this position will teach up to four classes per semester. This position could be teaching both survey classes and/or
upper-level classes. Applicant must also be responsible for course development, academic advisement, scholarly research, and college service.
QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant must have a Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics or a closely related field (i.e., Pre & Advanced Calculus, Geometry, Trigonometry, Linear Algebra, Complex Variable, Topology etc.). The applicant must have excellent written
and verbal communication skills. Applicants should have a demonstrable potential for excellence in research and teaching.
SPECIAL INFORMATION
