Position Summary
This full-time, administrative position provide assistance and outreach support for all aspects of the enrollment process from recruitment through registration. The Enrollment and Outreach Coach helps students navigate the enrollment process during outreach events, in the Hub Enrollment Center, and contacting through various means to encourage and support them through the process.
Kellogg Community College is located in Battle Creek, Michigan, a community of approximately 54,000 people. Leisure activities, natural resources and learning opportunities provide a foundation for residents. Located along the I-94 interstate, Battle Creek is within 30 minutes of Kalamazoo, 60 minutes of Lansing and Grand Rapids and within three hours of Detroit, Chicago and Indianapolis.

Physical Demands
The job responsibilities are performed in an office area and presentation venues. Travel by car required. The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 – 45 pounds). Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration. Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy, and may be involved in some mildly unpleasant situations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree (BA or BS) from an accredited college or university.
- One (1) or more years of related experience; such as mentoring, coaching, advising, tutoring, etc.
- Knowledge of K-12 and/or higher education systems.
- Working knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, including active listening skills.
- Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience working with a diverse population.
- Ability to independently travel in and around the community and regional sites.
Preferred but not Required
- Masters Degree (MA, MS, or MBA) or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- Direct experience with student engagement in higher education.
- Experience working at a community college.
Proposed Salary
According to the Kellogg Community College Hay Administrative Compensation program, the 2023-2024 annual salary range for a Professional 1 position, $47,392 to $55,753 to start.

Description
- Assist students with navigating the enrollment process, including
- applying to the College and submitting all required documentation,
- completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and financial aid processes,
- registering for new student orientation and scheduling the new student advising appointment,
- following their educational plan with course selection,
- registering for classes, and
- determining payment.

- Assist with direct mail, telephone, and email follow-up with student populations.

- Monitor student progress through the enrollment process and utilize various strategies and communication modes to move potential students through the process to the point of registration and beginning attendance in classes.
- Assist financial aid recipients with satisfactory academic progress appeals and refer students to additional resources such as academic advising, counseling, and financial aid administrators.
