The Theriogenology residency at North Carolina State University is a 2 or 3-year program depending on the candidate’s interest in a graduate degree. The residency is clinically based with an emphasis primarily on equine and canine species, with additional experience in bovine and small ruminant species. An opportunity also exists for exposure to swine and poultry. Preparation for board certification in the American College of Theriogenologists is a goal of the program. Clinical duties also involve participation in the breeding management of mares and stallions housed at the Equine Theriogenology Clinic at the Reedy Creek Farm, Raleigh, NC. Residents are also involved in both didactic and clinical teaching of veterinary students.
