Purpose: This position is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Workforce Information Center, Intake and Enrollment, and Outreach, as well as various positions within those areas ensuring that excellent customer service and compliance is maintained. The position is also responsible for serving as a liaison for the Division to the College’s Marketing and Communications Department, records management, resolving customer services concerns, assisting with the development and dissemination of divisional procedures, orienting staff to WED Division, college policies and procedures, reporting, and presentations.
Scope: The Administrator is responsible for marketing, enrollment, records management and analysis, and additional day-to-day operations in support of the division’s programs. This position will work closely with the Associate Vice President of Workforce Development, the Assistant Vice President, other division leaders, and all divisional staff to achieve the goals of the division in accordance with the mission, core values and purposes of the college.
Dimension: The Administrator supports and assists the Workforce and Economic Development and provides day-to-day oversight for the key functions including assisting with the design and Mott Community College Job Description implementation of intake/enrollment and communication processes utilized in daily operations. This position will assist with reporting on the implementation of strategic goals and major initiatives in the Division; data, systems and technology management; facilities operation, and management information center operations.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position will supervise Site/Program Coordinators, Administrative Support Specialist(s), Intake/Records Processor(s), Program Assistant (s), temporary staff, interns, work-study students, other student workers and volunteers depending on the needs of the program.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Public Administration, Human Services or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. (For screening purposes, two years of directly related experience is equivalent to one year of education; eight (8) years of experience is the acceptable substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.)
- Three (3) years’ administrative experience working in a grant-funded environment in areas such as workforce development, student services, grants/program management, and/or community outreach.
- Three (3) years of providing customer service to a diverse population, students, staff, community members and partner agencies using tact, courtesy and diplomacy and the ability to adapt to change in a growing environment serving diverse traditional and non-traditional students.
- One (1) year of direct supervisory or project management experience which may be concurrent with requirement number one and two.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Word and Excel
Additional Desirable Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- Workforce Development experience and/or certifications (CWDP, CDF, GCDF).
- Knowledge and familiarity with human resources, college, state and federal employment laws.
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Data Management & Reporting software experience such as MS Access, Efforts to Outcomes (ETO), Lumens, OnStrategy, and/or Cognos.
- Understanding of quality improvement processes
- Background must include strong analytical and documentation skills; attention to detail; experience assembling and presenting complex information as well as general information.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.
- Grant management experience including budget maintenance.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Must be able to work at a desk for long periods of time and operate a computer workstation and telephone.
- Must be able to communicate both in person and over the telephone with a variety of people each day. Mott Community College Job Description
- Occasionally carries and moves light loads up to (25 lbs.)
- The minimum reasoning skills necessary for this position include the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization does not exist. Ability to define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions.
Work Schedule
Willing and able to work a flexible work schedule, which may involve evening and/or weekend coverage as required. This is a full-time, 52-week position.
