Job Description:
SUNY Westchester Community College seeks Adjunct Faculty to teach Elementary Japanese 1. The position requires 4-5 contact hours dependent on class. Adjunct Faculty may teach up to three classes each semester at the main campus and satellite locations in Westchester County.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master's degree in Japanese or related field in Japanese Studies and have a minimum of one year of experience. Successful candidates must also be familiar with course management systems, and have experience with online, remote and in person classes.
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Master's degree in Second Language Acquisition in Japanese or related field in Japanese Studies is preferred. Experience in instructional technology and one (1) year of classroom teaching in any level of Japanese are also preferred.

POSITION EFFECTIVE: Spring 2025 semester. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
SALARY & BENEFITS: $82.57 per hour. No benefits.
