Job Summary

The Creative Video Producer is primarily responsible for creating, ideating and executing promotional and gameday video content to support Michigan Athletics' 29 varsity sports teams. Duties will include but are not limited to: filming Michigan Athletics events, creating content for external and internal use, managing archives, delivering footage for media requests, and providing leadership to student workers. Occasional travel will be required. 

Additional duties include coordinating, capturing, producing, and distributing a wide variety of projects. These will include ideating, filming, and editing video for longer and shorter form pieces for social media, in-venue displays, email, internal audiences and other channels and outlets as assigned.

Responsibilities*

Use independent judgment and creative technical knowledge to create high-level video content that must appeal to a wide range of audiences, including but not limited to: hype videos, intro videos, features, and videoboard content.

Serve as the lead videographer for assigned sports.

Empower and collaborate with a team of student-interns, who are meant to assist in various ways, including B-shooting, remote editing, and live content creation.

Responsible for pre- and post-production elements, editing, audio, and writing for original productions.

Travel with teams to film in-season, post-season matches, or conference championships.

Collaborate with others on the external operations team to deliver information and audience engagement with ticket sales, digital marketing, fan experience, LEARFIELD and other areas within Michigan Athletics.   

Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.

Onsite: The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan.
