Position Overview
- Rider University invites applications for the position of Assistant Director for Recruitment, Training, and Technology. Reporting to the Director for Residence Life, the Assistant Director has primary responsibilities in the area of Residence Life. Chief responsibilities include to support the management of the Cloud-based Housing Management System, StarRez. Through Cloud based computing, web services, and APIs, this position is responsible for database structures, report development, dashboards, and data analytics.
The Assistant Director coordinates system implementations, upgrades, and modifications to maintain data integrity, collaborates with various support groups to enhance system performance and builds data schematics to make Housing data accessible to other campus partners through data warehouse and dashboards. The Assistant Director also plans, coordinates and implements Community Assistant and Graduate Community Director recruitment and selection activities. The Assistant Director will supervise 5 to 7 Graduate Community Directors.
The Assistant Director is responsible for creating a safe, comfortable and educational community where academic success and personal growth is encouraged. Through individual contact with students and the development of student staff, the Assistant Directors are expected to work to identify at risk students and situations and to develop programs and services to address student retention issues.
This is a live on campus position. Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Master's degree in Education Administration, Counseling, Student Personnel or related field.
- 3-5 years full-time residence life/housing experience.
- Demonstrated experience with StarRez is a must.
- Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required
