Academic Human Resources Analyst 2
Job Description
This position reports to the Academic Personnel/HR Supervisor and will provide guidance to faculty to resolve a variety of academic human resource issues of moderate scope and complexity. This position will assemble materials for faculty recruitment and ensure compliance with school and university policies. The position will ensure all faculty have medical staff appointments. The position will work with the AP Cluster Analyst assigned by Academic Personnel to assist the Department with merit and promotions.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Two years experience working in an academic setting handling academic personnel actions.
- Experience writing summaries, proposals, correspondence, and other communications with skills to edit copy for correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Experience using analytical skills to research and interpret data and policy, contribute to solutions, forecast the impact of potential actions, develop logical conclusions and/or recommend solutions.
- Experience coordinating large volumes of work; managing detailed projects with conflicting priorities and competing deadlines; and establishing goals and workload priorities.
- Experience and/or skills to use but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, email, databases, accounting, payroll, and human resources systems; design custom databases, produce reports and queries using various programs.
- Working knowledge, understanding and experience in counseling and advising, and work in partnership with management and staff on matters pertaining to academic personnel policies and applicable laws and regulations with ability to analyze, interpret, communicate and apply policy where applicable.
- Analytical skills to evaluate problems, streamline processes, review policies to make decisions, provide recommendations and develop justification to resolve problems.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills with the ability to extract, interpret and diagnose data.
- Skills decisions regarding work assignments and scheduling of subordinates.
- Skills to exercise a high degree of independent judgment and political acumen to interact with a wide variety of individuals. Skills in effective professional relationships with managers, supervisors and employees inside and outside of the department and across the University.
- Demonstrated skills to handle difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and the ability to manage through change.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to diverse audiences.
- Skills to interact in confidence and maintain strict confidentiality in all matters.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a team member and promote a cohesive team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with, familiarity with or ability to learn systems and applications such as RECRUIT, Academic Personnel History Information Database (APHID), MyInfoVault (MIV), UCPath, Aggie Service, Cognos Reporting System and ecotime.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SISS policies and procedures and good working knowledge of various visa levels and processes.

Department Overview
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a School of Medicine academic/clinical
department of approximately 40 faculty members, 11 Volunteer Clinical Professors, 4 Staff
Physicians, 9 Fellows, 30 Residents and approximately 76 staff members. The Department
of Family and Community Medicine is a School of Medicine academic/clinical department of
approximately19 faculty members, 30 Volunteer Clinical Professors, 8 Staff Physicians, 47
Residents and approximately 40 staff members. The departments are responsible for
providing research, education and clinical service.
