Donna Klein Jewish Academy, an independent non-profit school for children grades Kindergarten through 12, is a Jewish community day school serving families from a broad spectrum of Jewish backgrounds and religious practices. The school is located within the vibrant, 100-acre campus of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County.
The Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School at Donna Klein Jewish Academy seeks an energetic and engaging Assistant Director of College Counseling and Alumni Engagement. This dynamic role will involve shared responsibilities in college counseling and alumni engagement, ensuring our students are well-prepared for their post-secondary journeys and fostering lasting relationships with our alumni network.
Key Responsibilities:
● College Counseling: Provide individualized college counseling to students, guiding them through the college selection process, application preparation, and financial aid strategies.
● Workshops and Seminars: Develop and conduct informative workshops and seminars for students and parents on topics such as college admissions, scholarship opportunities, and personal statement writing.
● Alumni Engagement: Create and implement programs to engage alumni, fostering a strong network that benefits current students and promotes community involvement.
● Collaboration: Work closely with faculty, administration, and external partners to enhance the college counseling program and ensure alignment with student needs.
● Technology Integration: Utilize technology to streamline counseling processes, manage student data, and enhance communication with students and families.
● Mentorship: Mentor and support students in their personal and academic growth, helping them build the skills necessary for success in college and beyond.
Qualifications:
● Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Counseling, Education, or a related field preferred. Candidates must provide official transcripts.
● Experience: Previous experience in high school education, college counseling, or related fields is essential. Demonstrated success in guiding students through the college admissions process is highly desirable.
● Skills: Strong understanding of the college admissions landscape and the ability to work effectively with students of varying academic levels. Proficiency in technology and digital tools relevant to college counseling is necessary.
● Personal Qualities: A passion for working with adolescents, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build rapport with students, families, and alumni.
