The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates comprehensive human resource processes across Barber National Institute teams and locations. This role will research, support development of, and administration of an exceptional employee experience by ensuring the employee lifecycle for Barber National institute employees is supportive, intentional, and outcomes driven. This position supports the strategic direction of the HR team by supporting projects and initiatives, proving the opportunity to build specialized project management, human resources, strategy, and communication skills. The Human Resource Coordinator ensures compliance with federal and state regulations are a firm foundation for our employee development and culture focused activities. This role includes providing support to the human resource team including data quality and record-keeping, HRIS data and workflow administration, and implementing employee focused activities across the team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage employee records in the HRIS, including completing employee actions including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Ensuring timely completion of workflows by monitoring the entire workflow process for assigned responsibility areas.
- Assists with processing required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
- Monitors the new employee orientation process through the HRIS to ensure candidates are effectively processed through onboarding and new hire actions. Ensures timely and accurate completion of onboarding steps by new hires and follows up as required.
- Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, competitors’ practices, and other sources.
- Assists with recruitment and interview processes. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and supports targeted recruiting activities.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Completes special projects independently and in collaboration with teammates to support implementation of initiatives, research, and developing and maintaining reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
- One year of related experience required with two years preferred.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and/or Associate Professional in Talent Development (ATD-APTD) preferred.
- Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
- Working understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment, HR, and HR policies.
- Valid driver’s license required
- Eligibility for State Police Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance
