POSITION REPORTS TO: Senior Managing Director, Partnerships & Network Learning, Adam Stumacher

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Teach For America Massachusetts seeks a driven leader to serve as the Manager, Regional Program Operations in the Massachusetts region. In this role, you will be the lead operations person for our work with corps members in Massachusetts, from in-person events to communications, to virtual communities, to touchpoints to ensure corps members feel appreciated for their hard work.
 
The Manager, Regional Program Operations reports to the Senior Managing Director, Partnerships & Network Learning in the Massachusetts region.
 
 
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
 
Operations Support for Corps Members and School Partnerships (50%)
  • Lead on execution for all operational details (venue, food, technology, scheduling, attendance, etc.), of in-person engagements with corps members (CMs), such as CM Welcome Day, Summits, Alumni Induction, and informal gatherings
  • Support operational planning and provide on-site support as needed for Pre-Service and Practicum summer training, including coordinating the School Operations Managers (SOMs)
  • Support Managing Directors of Leadership Development in planning and executing initiatives for their corps members for the year
  • Support execution of corps culture campaigns, such as Teacher Appreciation Week
  • Coordinate all CM-facing communications from the region, including licensure communications
  • Coordinate all School Partnerships communications, including the monthly School Partnerships newsletter, and develop collateral to support the MD,LD arc of engagement with school partners
 
Operations Support for Licensure and University Partnerships (30%)
  • Lead the infrastructure, coordination, and operations support of virtual content groups
  • Support university partnership and licensure operations, such as completion tracking and execution in high volume moments, in partnership with the Director of New England Educator Licensure
 
Operations and Project Management Support for Programmatic Projects (15%)
  • Support the launch of the Ignite Fellowship program in 2 partner schools for fall 2025
  • Support any project management needed for 2030 goal partnerships that emerge
  • Support corps member hiring in collaboration with the Senior Managing Director, Talent
  • Support external compliance work for the region related to AmeriCorps above and beyond the role of the Manager of Operations on the Program Hub, including representing TFA with AmeriCorps or state agencies as necessary
 
Organizational & Regional Stewardship (5%)
  • Support, attend, and/or participate in regional & cross-team activities and campaigns, including staff meetings and events
  • Participate in org-wide initiatives, including corps member interviewing and matriculation
 
A WEEK IN THE LIFE
For any week, the Manager, Regional Program Operations will be planning multiple events simultaneously, working through project plans to ensure that upcoming events deliver the experiences our corps members need and deserve. This would include arranging venues, checking prices, coordinating technology logistics, ordering food, etc. In addition, the Manager, Regional Program Operations will partner with individual MD,LDs to support their vision for the experiences of their corps members in their cohorts, arranging dinners in the communities where corps members work, designing care packages, etc. In parallel, they will be partnering with the D, NEEL to ensure that all licensure logistics are accounted for, and all corps members are registered for coursework and are on track to take the necessary certification exams.
 
While this may vary week to week, day travel throughout the Massachusetts region is required for this role, as is occasional evening or weekend work. It is also expected that this staff member lives in the Massachusetts region and can travel to our Boston office at least weekly.
 
 
YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of professional experience required
  • Exceptional detail-orientation
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Experience managing projects to reach and exceed ambitious goals
  • Experience managing multiple projects at once
  • Demonstrated commitment to and belief in Teach For America's mission, theory of change, and core values
 
BONUS (preferred qualifications)
  • Teach For America corps member experience preferred
  • Experience as an educator in Massachusetts is preferred

Teach For America Massachusetts launched our teaching corps in 2009 and has since grown into a diverse community of over 200 corps members and 2,600 alumni working each day on behalf of children. We work to achieve systems-level change in our five partner cities: Boston, Chelsea, Lawrence, Fall River, and Springfield. Our team operates with nuance and agility as we execute work across the Commonwealth and partner closely with our Program & Development Hubs, alongside other regions and central teams.
 
 
YOUR COMPENSATION
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on various job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Salary
Tier A: $55,700-$83,500
Tier B: $60,700-$91,000
Tier C: $65,700-$98,600
