• Recruits, interviews, and assist with selection of employees for vacant positions.
• Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward institutional goals.
• Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
• Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
• Advises department managers and employees of University policies regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
• Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs, and advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
• Prepares presentations for managers and employees regarding human resources policies and practices.
• Keeps records of benefits plans participation, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for internal and governmental reporting.
• Develops and maintains a human resources systems.
• Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
• Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
