Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
Student AV Technicians will report to the Director of Information Technology. This team should comprise a minimum of 3 student staff members. Each evening’s shift would be monitored by one student and offer on average 22 hours of work for this team (about 7.5 hours per student per week). This student staff would report to the Director of Information Technology but have modified Building Management access to support faculty, staff, students, and external meetings/events after hours. The position is responsible for instructional and collaborative IT/AV technology support in TMH. The position is responsible for supporting IT/AV technology to faculty, staff, and students on site. The position will also be responsible for setup and configuring designated rooms for SPP events.

- Provide onsite technical and general room support to faculty, staff, and students, including AV systems in classrooms and meeting spaces.
- Monitor all technical aspects of the classroom.
- Monitor WEPA Printing.
- Room setup and configuration for events held at TMH.
- Providing TMH room access within the work hours designated.
- Ensure that all rooms and areas of the building are properly secured or enabled for the appropriate program usage.
- Ensure all rooms are secured at the end of programs and events.
- Listening out for emergency situations and calling for emergency services
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Must be a current University of Maryland Undergraduate or graduate student.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of technical audio-visual systems experience.
- Knowledge and experience with laptop/desktop connectivity and interfacing with AV systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to support, identify, and troubleshoot general problems with IT/AV hardware.
- Knowledge of Windows/Mac OS, web browsers, and productivity applications (MS Office).
- A general understanding of networks and authentication.

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and small carry parcels, packages, and other items, and to walk short distances.
