As the President, of the Advocate National Center for Health Equity (ANCHE), you will be responsible for leveraging the full resources of Advocate Health, one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the country, to address the root causes health disparities by co-creating transformative equity-based interventions with clinicians, developing, disseminating and supporting the implementation of tools and best practices grounded in clinical evidence to improve health equity in communities, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to advance the organization’s mission to provide equitable health and health care for all.

 

The President will lead teams within ANCHE focused on impact evaluation, social impact, health equity data analytics and health equity clinical and community interventions. The President will work alongside senior clinical, corporate, academic and community leaders to integrate the health equity strategy throughout the health system, including the care delivery system and the academic learning system.

Reporting to the EVP, Chief Community & Social Impact Officer.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Accountabilities:

    • Drives development, innovation, dissemination, and transformation to advance robust and comprehensive health equity strategy to eliminate health disparities, embedding strategy throughout all aspects of organization culture, strategy, infrastructure, and operations.
    • Serves as senior advisor providing strategic guidance and research-informed insights on health equity and social impact best practices and effective approaches to be implemented in collaboration with clinical, academic, executive and community leaders.
    • Cultivates collaborative relationships to engage and activate enterprise leadership to build organizational capacity and ensure resource sharing, alignment, integration, standardization and efficiencies of scale and sustainability to support equitable care and clinical and social outcomes.
    • Directs health equity data collection and clinical leader decision support infrastructure in collaboration with IT and administers the dissemination of health equity data to provide actionable insights to empower clinicians to deliver equitable care and improve health outcomes.
    • Provides oversight of social impact strategy and priorities, informing organization’s approach to community investment and strategic partnerships to build community conditions that drive health.
    • Works collaboratively with academic leaders to develop health equity research, best practices and evidence-based guidelines through an optimized evaluation strategy.
    • Advocates for health equity and social impact policy and practice changes that address inequities, leveraging the combined influence of the multi-state system, in collaboration with government affairs.
    • Develops and oversees the planning and preparation of short- and long-range objectives, plans, budgets, procedures, and standards of functions responsible, including human resource management of assigned teams.

 

Location:

Enterprise-wide (Illinois, Wisconsin, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama)


Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.


Education Required:

  • Master’s degree in related field from an accredited college or university. Doctorate preferred.


Experience Required:

  • 10 years of leadership experience as a role model for health equity.
  • Leads health equity impact evaluation and grants management, social impact, data analytics and clinical and community health interventions teams.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, cross-cultural communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive issues and influence others while maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Excellent change management and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing strategic and tactical plans to meet business objectives.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence various audiences, from senior leaders to teammates to community members.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse workforce and provide leadership for significant organizational change.
