Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for processing the biweekly payroll for all categories of employees within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA). This includes:
- Creating, updating, and processing changes and/or terminations to employment appointments and other documents to meet payroll deadlines.
- Review submitted event payroll sheets, create event spreadsheet, and consolidate to initiate event payments in payroll system.
- Accurately fulfilling payroll functions such as updating salaries/hourly rates, processing new hire employment forms, as well as, existing employment records and/or contracts, performing exit payroll system processes.
- Updating employee information for ICA electronic directories and organizational charts.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to maintain updated annual and/or seasonal employment forms/agreements.
Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum of two years of experience in payroll, accounting or a related field is required.

- The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to plan, prioritize time, and execute in a fast paced, high volume, deadline driven environment.
- Demonstrates a solid understanding compensation, payroll, benefits, etc. Possess strong computer skills to analyze data to accurately answer questions and meet deadlines. The ability to work independently with efficiency as well as working effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to build relationships with diverse populations, display good judgment and decision making, and maintain confidentiality; customer service oriented approach operating in a professional and flexible manner, strong communication skills both verbally and in writing to convey technical information in a clear manner.
